BookLessons is operated by Monkey Mountain LLC, Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA ("BookLessons", "we"). By using the BookLessons app or website you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

What BookLessons does

BookLessons lets dance and music teachers and studios publish open lesson times and lets students book them. The lesson itself — its price, place, cancellation policy and payment — is an agreement between the teacher (or studio) and the student. BookLessons is the scheduling tool, not a party to the lesson.

Accounts

• Teachers and studios sign in with a mobile number and a one-time code; students with an emailed link. Keep your phone and email secure — whoever holds them holds your account.
• You must be 18 or older. Lessons for minors are booked by a parent or guardian.
• Give accurate information, and only your own contact details. Enter another person's number or email only where the service asks for it (a teacher's student roster), and only with their agreement to be contacted by you.
• You can delete your account at any time; records of past lessons stay with the teacher or studio as described in the privacy policy.

Bookings, cancellations and payments

• A booking is confirmed when it appears as booked with a lesson ID. Each teacher sets their own cancellation rules; the rules that apply to you are shown before you book and before you cancel.
• A first-time student keeps a credit card on file, processed by Stripe. It is charged only for a late cancellation or an unpaid lesson, under the teacher's rules, and the charge appears as "BookLessons".
• Balances a student keeps with a teacher or studio are records between those parties; BookLessons does not hold the money.
• Teachers' first 200 bookings are free; after that a subscription or a booking package, billed by Stripe, is required. Studios need the studio plan to manage teachers. Prices are shown in the app before you buy; subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled.

Text message (SMS) terms

• Program: BookLessons lesson notifications, sent by Monkey Mountain LLC.
• Messages: booking confirmations, cancellations, lesson reminders, studio invitations and one-time sign-in codes. No marketing.
• Opt-in: notifications go only to people who entered their own mobile number, confirmed it with a one-time code and ticked "Text me …" (students: Account → Text messages on booklessons.app; teachers and studios: Settings → Account in the app). Sign-in codes are sent when you request one.
• Frequency: varies with your lesson activity.
• Rates: message and data rates may apply.
• Opt out: reply STOP to any message to cancel; you will receive one confirmation text and no further messages. Reply START to resume. You can also untick the box in your account.
• Help: reply HELP, or email service@booklessons.app.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Messages are supported on US carriers.
• Mobile numbers and opt-in consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes (see the privacy policy).

Acceptable use

Do not use BookLessons to send unwanted messages, to collect contact details you have no right to, to book times you do not intend to attend, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend an account that does.

Disclaimer and liability

BookLessons is provided as is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that every notification arrives — always check your bookings in the app or on the web. To the extent the law allows, Monkey Mountain LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes, law and contact
